Lena Belle Chapman, age 82, was called home to be with the Lord on November 21, 2017.

A native of Anderson, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Riley Leo Chapman and the late Clarice Hall Chapman.  Also, Ms. Chapman was preceded in death by a brother, Donald E. Chapman. 

Ms. Chapman made her home on Dobbins Bridge Road in Anderson, South Carolina.

Ms. Chapman was a devoted member of Grace Episcopal Church in Anderson, South Carolina. She was an active member of St. Catherine’s Guild. 

Ms. Chapman was known as a very humble person who in her quiet way went about caring for others and showing them respect, compassion, and kindness. Ms. Chapman was loved by her many friends. 

Ms. Chapman was a graduate of Anderson Girls’ High School.

She retired from Senior Action in Greenville, South Carolina, after many years of service in their business office. 

A graveside service will be conducted at Old Silver Brook Cemetery on Friday, November 24, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. John Benjamin Hardaway, IV. officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ms. Chapman to the “Grace Church Endowment of Grace Episcopal Church,” 711 South McDuffie Street, Anderson, South Carolina 29624.
