Anderson, SC - Linda Gail Nixon Cain, 75, widow of Maxie Edward Cain, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017.

Born in Charlotte, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ira B. “Red” and Louise Pike Nixon. She was retired from AnMed Health. Mrs. Cain enjoyed traveling as long as her health permitted. She was a member of NewLife Fellowship and was a longtime member of Homeland Park Baptist Church. 

Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Cain Mathews and husband, Mike and Tina Cain Slatton and husband, Kelly, all of Anderson; three grandchildren, Roth Mathews, Sullivan Slatton and Garner Slatton; two sisters, Chyral Hankins of Sioux City, SD and Marie Miller and husband, Lee of Anderson; brother, Jerry Nixon and wife, Jeanette of Ridgeway; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Nixon of Anderson. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ira Merrill Nixon.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, August 17, at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. David Walters and Rev. Ronnie James. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:45 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. The family is at the home of Tammy and Mike Mathews.
