Anderson, SC - Joseph Parker Nalley, 92, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018. 

Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late Frank Edwin Nalley and Gertrude Parker Nalley Gilreath. Mr. Nalley was in the U.S. Navy during World War II having served on the USS Iowa. He was a car salesman and retired from Guy Motors and was an avid fisherman. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Patricia P. Nalley of the home; four children, Joe Nalley (Dianne) of Williamston, Ann Snipes (Michael), Jim “Bebo” Nalley (Pam), and Amy Simmons (Mike), all of Anderson; twelve grandchildren, Leigh Rampey (Danny), Josh Nalley, Ruthie George (Jimmy), Jon Snipes (Lauren), Anna Jones (Stephen), Kelly Mullikin (Jason), David Snipes (Kristina), John Westbrook, Cauley Simmons, Hallie Simmons, Parker Simmons, and Kensleigh Simmons; nine great grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Chapman Frasso of Tierra Verde, Florida.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Nalley and two sisters, Faye Pettit and Audrey Eskew. 

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, January 4, at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel conducted by Dr. James R. Thomason and Dr. Josh Hunt. Burial will be at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. The family is at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Home for Children, 110 Calvary Home Circle, Anderson, SC 29621.
