Anderson University Presents Antigone

The Anderson University Playhouse will continue its 2009-2010 season with Antigone, the final chronicle in the Theban plays of Sophocles. The Belk Theatre in the Rainey Fine Arts Center will house the production January 27-30 at 7:30 pm, with an additional matinee showing on the 30th at 2:00 pm. The Anderson community is welcome to enjoy this classic piece of theatre history.
Directed by Anderson University Alumnus Phyllis Jackson, Antigone will present the traditional story in a fresh way using multi-media technology and a modern-language translation. Antigone will include film interpretations of the back stories told in previous plays, shown on a 30-foot screen and produced by Joshua Jackson, also an AU alumnus.
The public is invited, though some scenes of intensity may not be suitable for small children. General admission is $10, student tickets are $5. For more information, contact (864) 231-2125.
