The live performance of the Tony Award-winning musical will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the Brooks Center.
“This is a perfect opportunity to extend the performance beyond the Brooks Center,” said Lillian Harder, Brooks Center director. “These events will provide insight into the much-beloved musical, novel and film.”

The panel will feature Clemson University faculty members from various departments, including English, history and performing arts.      The film "The Color Purple" will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at the main library.
Glenn Hare, marketing director of the Brooks Center, will discuss aspects of the Broadway production at the Iva Book Club (Iva branch) at 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16; the Brown Bag Book Club (main library) at noon Wednesday, Aug. 25; and the Pendleton Book Club (Pendleton branch) at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26.
