Four Trojan pitchers combined to limit Southern Wesleyan to six hits as the Anderson University baseball team opened a four-game homestand with a 3-1 win past Southern Wesleyan Wednesday afternoon at Anderson Memorial Stadium.
Anderson (3-3) claimed its second win in as many days and improved to 2-0 at home, while Southern Wesleyan fell to 1-3 on the season.
Senior right-hander Kaleb Davis got the start on the mound for the Trojans, hurling four full innings for the win, while Elliott Tolley, Riley McDermott and Jacob Saxon combined to toss five innings of scoreless, two-hit baseball.
Senior second baseman Ryan Saxon, junior Ryan Kirkland and sophomore Tripp Ross led the way offensively for Anderson, as each posted two hits on the afternoon. Saxon reached base four times, including two doubles and was hit by an errant pitch in the seventh inning.
Anderson opens a three-game weekend series by playing host to Coker College on Saturday with a doubleheader slated to begin at 1 p.m. at Anderson Memorial Stadium.
