Golf Tournament to Benefit Meals on Wheels-Anderson

The 29th annual Meals on Wheels Benefit Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, May 20, 2011. This year’s event is again sponsored by the Dirty Old Men’s Club and hosted by Pine Lake Golf Course. The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Entry fee is $65 per person and includes a round of golf, golf cart, lunch, and beverages.  Golfers who wish to participate should register by May 10. The event will begin with a putting contest at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m. Tournament scoring will be Captain’s Choice and prizes will be awarded for hole-in-one, closest to the pin and longest drive. Other activities include a silent auction and door prizes donated by various local businesses. Pine Lake Golf Course is located at 410 Carpenter Road in Anderson.

All proceeds from this event will help feed the homebound elderly and disabled of Anderson County.
