Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is opening a new location in Anderson at 1702 Greenville Street (across from Quik Trip). The casual dining restaurant boasts 285 locations in 31 states coast-to-coast, and offers casual dining and desserts on the menu. A spokesman for Freddy's said the company hopes to have the new location up and running in the Spring of 2018.

The website for the company says all menu items are cooked-to-order only, and nothing is prepared in advance.

“Greenville Street is a popular retail corridor due to the steady flow of traffic through the area,” said Jason Ingermanson, franchise operator for Freddy's. “This, coupled with the surrounding residential neighborhoods, makes the location a great match for Freddy’s. We hope the community will enjoy our family-friendly dining experience and atmosphere with all of their family and friends.”

Developed by TGC Development Group based in Wichita, Kan., and operated by JRI Management based in Salina, Kan., the 2,600 square-foot, free-standing restaurant will seat 86 guests and will have additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service will also be available. Freddy’s is known for its lean ground-beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs and shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is churned fresh several times throughout the day.

Co-founded in 2002 by brothers Bill and Randy Simon, and their friend and business partner, Scott Redler, the three men named the restaurant after Bill and Randy’s father, Freddy Simon, a World War II veteran.

Today, Freddy’s restaurants from coast-to-coast serve a menu reminiscent of the all-American meals Freddy prepared for his family.
