Emergency Management Drill Set at T.L. Hanna June 20

Anderson County Emergency Management Division will conduct a training exercise in cooperation with the County’s Hazardous Materials Unit and other first responder organizations next Wednesday from 6–9 p.m. at T.L. Hanna High School.

The event is part of a biennial, a Federal Emergency Management Administratrion exercise that evaluates the county’s readiness as a reception center for evacuees of a possible incident at the Oconee Nuclear Station.

Participating organizations will simulate procedures for managing individuals who may have potentially been exposed to radiological contamination resulting from a general emergency, the most serious emergency classification level, which may occur at a nuclear power facility.

For more information contact Stephen Combs, Media & Community Relations Coordinator for Anderson County Emergency Management, at (864) 332-5738.
