Angel Flights Soars to Help Anderson Patient

On June 19, Angel Flight Soars will be flying a local patient, Tiffany Ray to the life-changing treatment at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center to see a specialist. Volunteer pilot Blanton Hamilton will fly leg one of the mission from Anderson Regional Airport to Bluefield, West Virginia. There they will meet a pilot from a sister organization, to fly Ray to Pittsburgh for treatment. Angel Flight Soars expresses gratitude to the volunteers as they help patients in need, regardless of the distance they may need to travel.

Angel Flight Soars' mission is to help families in crises by eliminating the concern of how to get to necessary medical care, thereby enabling them to focus on a resolution for the medical condition at issue.

“It’s our goal to remove transportation as an obstacle to medical care,” said Jeanine Chambers, Executive Director of 20 years

Whether those boundaries are geographic or financial, their volunteer pilots and Earth Angels are all believers of Angel Flight’s mission. All services are free to patients and families.

Angel Flight Soars was formed in 1983 as a loosely organized group of 15 volunteer pilots that just wanted to help people who needed medical treatment. They serve patients in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. In 2018, Angel Flight Soars coordinated 3,371 mission flights.

Those in need of such transport to and from distant medical treatment, acn call Angel Flight Soars’ Mission Team at 770-452-7958 or visit their website http://www.angelflightsoars.org/.
