 January Stats:

  •    We were able to save 95.6% of the animals in our care this month.
  •    INTAKES:  428 (73 owner surrender, 5 return adoptions, 254 from animal control, 89 strays and 7 transferred in from other agencies).
  •    OUTCOMES:  185  animals adopted, 4 died, 15 were euthanized for illness or aggression, 8 animals were owner requested euthanasia, 74 were returned to their owners and 134 were sent to rescue
  •    Clinic performed 353 spay/neuter surgeries.
  •    PAWS received $5,021.29 in cash donations.
  •    PAWS now has a staff member dedicated to our volunteers.  We had 49 new volunteers attend orientation and training in January.  We had 97 volunteers spend time at the shelter for a total of 309.5 hours.

We have orientations every 2nd Saturday from 10:30am-12:00pm and 4th Monday from 6:00p-7:30p. To be able to volunteer with us, we now ask that people do the orientations so we can give them a quick “dos and don’ts” of the shelter. This program is going to be head up by one of our animal caretakers, Danielle Parker.  People who are interested In volunteering can contact Danielle a tpawsvolunteer@andersoncountysc.org or they can also contact Brittany Rambo at bvrambo@andersoncountysc.org

Dog of the Week: Maybelline

Meet Maybelline,  she is a 8 month old American Pit Bull mix.  She is around 40 pounds and will get a little bit bigger.  She is extremely sweet but timid. She was found as a stray and not in good shape at the time.

Maybelline is now healthy and looking for a forever family that will keep her as an inside pet. She requires someone with patience for training, as she is a puppy and someone with soft voice to help her gain trust.  She is very loving and wants to play but is just unsure of what is acceptable.
