"American Pickers" Looking for Rusty Gold in S.C.
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
The Wolfe brothers are coming.
The team from “American Pickers” is coming to South Carolina and is looking for “rusty gold” in our area to film future episodes of the History Channel series.
The Pickers’ team, made up of Mike Wolfe, Robbie Wolfe, Jersey Jon, and Danielle Colby, are looking for leads to find private collections of antiques or old, interesting items or forgotten relics with great stories behind them.
Collectors interested in being considered for the show can reach out by phone at (646) 493-2184 or email at AmericanPickers@cineflix.com. Collectors must include their full name, city/state, contact information, and a brief description of their collection. Note: that the Pickers only pick private collections, so no stores, malls, flea markets, museums, auctions, businesses, or anything open to the public will be considered..
“We’re pickers from Iowa looking for rusty treasures all over the country,” said Wolfe. “To me, history isn’t just places or items…it’s about people and relationships. The relationship that someone has with an item and why it’s important to them.”
“The items I collect are a vehicle to tell stories and push them forward. I feel like if you can surround yourself with things in the right environment, it’s like stepping back in time.”
Wolfe said he and his brother are looking forward to returning to South Carolina.
“We’ve had a lot of killer finds throughout the state and can’t wait to see what else it out there to discover.”
