AIT Seeing Increasing Students, Community Partnerships
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
The Anderson Institute of Technology, now starting its fourth year serving students from school districts 3, 4 and 5, is finally hitting its stride after a challenging start.
The year after AIT opened, the Covid pandemic struck, leaving the school scrambling to find ways to serve at least some of students with alternative learning paths. With many programs requiring hands-on work, many were left in a quandary.
But the school has bounced back post-Covid, and is attracting more students with field of studies ranging from computer science and engineering to cosmetology to welding and sculpture design.
Executive Director Tiffany Estes, who took the helm last year, said the school is seeing not only growing student participation, but increased partnerships with business/industry and the community.
