Anderson Welcomes Downtown Bakery

Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer

Connie Burkey grew up cooking with her mother and grandmother. But through the years, her love for cooking and baking waned.

But after a leukemia diagnosis, her love of baking reawakened and eventually led to opening the Glazed Bakery in downtown Anderson.

Burkey said the bakery makes everything fresh every day from organic ingredients and that not only is nothing ever frozen, they don’t even have a freezer on site. The bakery also grinds its own flours.

She said the community has welcomed the bakery.

“Downtown and Anderson has embraced us,” said Burkey. “We are so grateful.”
