Burns Praises Cooperation in Storm Cleanup Effort
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
Anderson County Administrator Rusty Burns said no event in the county’s history touched every square mile of the county like Hurricane Helene.
Burns outlines how the county worked to prepare for a storm that took a vicious turn at the last minute, and how he unwittingly put himself in harm’s way about the time the storm hit hardest while out assessing damage.
He said efforts for cleanup, including a 60-day contract to remove all debris dragged to the front of citizens yards will be picked up and chipped beginning Monday.
Burns also reminded the county Christmas tree will be taller and on a new elevated platform this year when it goes up in 43 days.
All this and more in his interview with the Anderson Observer.
