CAA's "Hot Air Affair" to Kickoff "Celebrate Anderson" Weekend

Labor Day Weekend is just three weeks away, and the hub of holiday activity will be centered around events scheduled at the Anderson Sports and Entertainment Complex.
The Cancer Association of Anderson’s “Hot Air Affair“ will kick off the weekend Sept. 1, when more than 30 hot air balloons will take flight to increase awareness of the mission of hope and support provided by the Cancer Association of Anderson.
“Every year, we give a few of our patients the opportunity to take a flight or tether," said CAA Executive Director Angie Stringer. "It may be a ‘bucket list’ wish of just the chance to take their minds off cancer, even if it is just for a few peaceful moments. When I think of Hot Air Balloons I think of freedom, of rising above our problems and all the obstacles that may arise – this means even more to someone who is battling cancer."
In addition to the hot air balloons, organizers have scheduled activities for kids, food and concerts Friday and Saturday night. The Cancer Association of Anderson is the only local organization solely providing assistance to residents of Anderson County. All the money raised stays local to provide assistance to patients and families. For up-to-date information and schedules, visit www.CAAnderson.org or www.Facebook.com/HotAirAffair.
This year’s “Hot Air Affair” joins the annual Anderson County Labor Day event, “Celebrate Anderson,” which this year features a Sept. 3 concert by country music artist Martina McBride. More information here.
All events for the weekend, including parking, are free.
