Chamber Adds Three Local Board Members
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
The Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce has added three new members and Interim CEO Carol Burdette will be on board until summer as the organization evaluates and adjusts its mission and direction for the future.
The three new members are Anderson business professionals: Dwayne Bowes, Area Director of Sales Marketing at Paragon Hotels, Emily Holland, owner H3 Marketing and Andy Patrick, president of Attaway Printing. The addition of three local business professionals is part of the plan to make the board more Anderson County-centric.
Subject to board approval in April, the chamber will also be adding four ex-officio members to the board to give broader community representation. The proposal calls for representatives from Anderson County, the City of Anderson, Anderson University and Tri-County Technical College.
Carol Burdette will continue to lead the organization as interim CEO until a search committee is formed to formally seek a new director, which will likely be this summer.
Burdette offered this update for the Anderson Observer.
