Chamber Hosts Tri-Town, "Three (minus one) Amigos"

The Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce brought two of the “Three Amigos” for September’s “Toast ‘N Topics” meeting at Tucker’s on Thursday.

The “Amigos,” a name adopted by the mayors of Pelzer, West Pelzer and Williamston, due to the men’s friendship and cooperative efforts, made due with a substitute for one of their team.

But West Pelzer Mayor Blake Sanders, recovering from a recent health issue, was represented by long-time Town Clerk Paula Payton, brought greetings from Sanders, along with his assurance that he will be back in place soon to finish out his final term as mayor. Payton joined Williamston Mayor Rockey Burgess and Pelzer Mayor Will Ragland for the forum.

The town leaders discussed their greatest accomplishments as leaders of their communities, and how cooperation had made all three townships better places to work and live.
