The City of Anderson officially opened on Thursday, a shared commercial kitchen available to entrepreneurs who need space for food preparation.

The 110 North Kitchen and Commissary is an incubator that features a professional kitchen for bakers, cooks and other food preparation equipment for food truck owners, area farmers, aspiring baker and other local business. The city built the facility with a series of grants.

“It’s really just to bridge the gap for people who are not quite ready for a brick-and-mortar store or want to expand or go retail or wholesale with their business but don’t necessarily have the ways or means to do so,” said Shared Kitchen Manager Francesca Milford. “We’re here to help guide them along the way.

Interest has been so great, there is already a waiting room for those wishing to use the space.

Located at 110 North Murray Avenue, the 2,500 sq. ft. facility will be available to rent on a daily and monthly basis.
