City Sends Plan for Crestview Annexation to Planning Commision
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
Anderson City Council agreed to send to the planning commission the annexation of 45 acres at 1401 Crestview Road for a new subdivision with 92 lots for single-family housing. The city requires the lots be at least 20,000 square-feet.
The company requesting the move, also asked the city to annex a few lots on Midway Road, which will not be part of the subdivision, for single-family housing.
Several council members urged caution on overloading the infrastructure of the area before the vote, saying that wider roads or additional lanes could be needed, especially on the stretch of Crestview between Old Williamston Road and Midway Road.
A roundabout, set for construction later this year at the corner of Crestview and Midway, would not solve traffic congestion, but aims to keep traffic flowing safely.
The planning commission’s next meeting is March 8, and they must approve the plan before it is submitted to counsel for consideration.
