County Honors Powdersville Firefighter Rick Owings

Anderson County Council honored long-time firefighter Rick Owings Tuesday night for his more than 52 years of service. During his long career, Owings held the positions of firefighter, lieutenant, Captain, assistant chief, and as a volunteer with the with the Powdersville Fire Department.
He has received many awards over the years from the department including: Firefighter of the Year and the Ken Barr Award of Service and Dedication; and has served on its Board of Directors, and on many committees,
The county resolution called Owings “a pillar of the community since his graduation from Wren High School in 1973.
