County's Jobless Rate Up in July

Anderson County’s unemployment rate was up again in July, rising to 4.7 percent, a rise of 1.8 percent from July of 2023.
While 669 more people had jobs in Anderson Count compared to last July, the county’s labor force rose by almost 3,000 in the last 365 days.
Anderson reflects the statewide trend, with every other county in the state posting higher unemployment numbers in July.
The statewide jobless rate, which unlike county rates is seasonally adjusted, was up to 3.9 percent, a rise of .2 percent since June, and an increase of 1.5 percent since July 2023.
