Fair Owners Open Event with Gifts to Community Organizations

The Anderson County Fair is lighting up the night skies through May 14, after an unusually charitable launch event Thursday afternoon.
Jim Drew, who now heads up the James H. Drew Exposition company which gave new life to the county fair in Anderson in 2012, after a five-year absence, opened this year’s events by giving back to the community.
“I really like Anderson County, and the community of Anderson,” said Drew. “That’s why we wanted to give something back.
Drew presented checks to four local groups as part of the effort, with $10,000 going to Celebrate Anderson and $5,000 each to the Cancer Association of Anderson, Anderson County P.A.W.S. and the Anderson County Sheriff’s Foundation as the gates opened for this year’s fair.
