Foothills Community Health Care Opens Large Facility in Anderson
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
Foothills Community Health Care officially opened the Anderson location on Tuesday, offering expanded healthcare services on a sliding scale to individuals and families, regardless of their insurance status.
Established in 2008 in Clemson, Foothills added an Easley location in 2016 and opened a small Anderson clinic in the Westside Community Center in 2020. The new Anderson location, which replaces the Westside clinic, is an expansive facility in the Lakeside Shopping Center located at 302 Pearman Dairy Road.
The new Anderson facility offers comprehensive primary and preventive care and includes family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, counseling, psychiatry, and pharmacy assistance. The location will also offer service to those with chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.
While accepting most insurance plans, including Medicaid and Medicare, Foothills also offers services on a sliding fee scale based on income and family size to the uninsured.
The new location will offer not only medical services, including family medicine, women’s health, physicals, immunizations, lab services, a pharmacy, and more, but will also introduce a designated pediatric care space. Students from Southwood Academy of the Arts painted murals for the pediatric rooms to provide a welcoming, comforting space for young patients, while a pediatrician has also joined the medical staff full-time.
Foothills Community Health Care is one of more than 20 federally qualified community health centers in South Carolina. Community health centers are community-based, non-profit organizations that provide comprehensive and high-quality health care in a culturally appropriate manner.
