Juneteenth Business Expo Offers Economic Empowerment

Juneteenth celebrations kicked off in Anderson on Saturday with a business expo and job fair aimed at celebration and elevation of local business and charitable agencies.
The event featured seminars for local businesses, job signups for local companies, food and other practical events to celebrate the holiday.
Dr. Ankoma Anderson, pastor of Welfare Baptist Church which hosted the celebration, said the event fit perfectly with the church’s mission.
“We have three standing pillars our ministry is build on,” said Anderson. “Evangelism is important, then there’s education - both Christian education and secular education - and the last pillar, one which we stand stronglly on is economic empowerment.”
