Library Steps Up as Community Hub After Storm
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
The Anderson County Library became a community hub on Monday after the storm, offering Wi-Fi and charging stations for citizens, most of whom have been without electricity for days.
All branches with electricity were open and saw record crowds. Serving as a gathering place for friends and neighbors, especially during times of crisis, is just one more function of a library system that has received statewide acclaim as a model to which all libraries should aspire.
Library Director Annie Sutton said the library will continue to monitor the situation and serve the county as needed.
