Meals on Wheels Hartwell Lake Charity Run Raises $100,000

Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer

The Meals on Wheels Anderson Hartwell Lake Charity Run raised over $100,000 this weekend to support the efforts of the non-profit.

More than 110 boats, some from as far away as California and New York, and some costing well over $1 million, participated in the non-profit’s biggest annual fund-raising event at Green Pond Landing and Events Center Saturday.

Meals on Wheels of Anderson provides 650 meals each day to the home-bound senior citizens and disabled citizens in Anderson County. There is also a wait list of more than 400 citizens who would also like to receive meals delivered. To find out more to donate, visit their website.
