New Williamston Playground a Place for All Children
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
A new playground in Williamston’s historic Mineral Springs Park will offer a new place for all children in the area to enjoy the great outdoors.
The playground, which will be open to the public soon, is completely Americans with Disabilities Act accessible, and includes some of the latest designs aimed at both fun and safety, synthetic turf and a fence to keep kids safe.
Williamston’s Brookdale Park will also get a new picnic shelter as part of the park upgrades.
Williamston Mayor Rockey Burgess offered thanks to S.C. Rep. Anne Thayer, R-Anderson, S.C. and S.C. Sen. Mike Gambrell, R-Anderson, who help secure a $750,000 grant from the state, for making the project possible.
