North Pointe Elementary Chosen as Palmetto's Finest

Anderson School District 5’s North Pointe Elementary School has been chosen for the 2024 Palmetto’s Finest Awards.
This selection comes after extensive statewide evaluations by a committee of fellow educators and previous Palmetto’s Finest winners. The award recognizes student achievement, instructional programs, professional learning communities, and school culture.
“Anderson Five is proud of the hard work of the students, teachers and staff at North Pointe Elementary,” said Anderson School Dist. 5 Assistant Superintendent for External Affairs Kyle Newton. “This is a prestigious honor, and this is a testament to the dedication of the entire North Pointe team.”
Last fall, 19 South Carolina schools submitted a 20-page application followed by an onsite examination visit from a review committee. From that group, North Pointe was chosen as one of the finalists, before being notified as a winner of the award on Tuesday.
Each spring since 1978, SCASA has recognized a few schools which offer excellent instruction and outstanding leaders, augmented by strong family and community involvement and a supportive business community. Initially presented only to two elementary schools and one middle school, the award was expanded in 1996-97, with the support of Carolina First Bank, to include a high school.
