Pendleton Tree Lighting, Christkindlmarkt Set for Friday
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
The Town of Pendleton will light up the Village Green Friday night with the tree lighting and the annual Christkindlmarkt, with holiday gifts from local vendors and a jolly dose of Christmas spirit.
The market opens at 4:30 and the tree lighting is set for 6:30 p.m.
Modeled as a homage to quaint, European Christmas markets, the weekend tradition continues to grow, with more vendors each year.
Market Manager Ginny Gaulin said the market aims to foster the Christmas spirit in the perfect location to enjoy shopping, good food and drinks, all while supporting local makers.
The market is scheduled, rain or shine, Fridays and Saturdays beginning Friday and continuing Saturday, then Dec. 6-7, and Dec. 13-14 15 from 4:30-8:30 p.m.
