This event is open to the public, including firefighters, first responders, military personnel, and civilians, who will be afforded the opportunity to reflect on the heroism on display on 9/11 and to remember both those who lost their lives and those who survived.

Parking is available at Rocksprings Fire Department and transportation back from Belton will be provided.

In a release, the joint fire departments wrote:

“September 11, 2001, is a day etched into the hearts of every American. On that day, nearly 3,000 lives were tragically cut short in the deadliest terrorist attack in world history. The 9/11 Memorial Walk serves as a powerful reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the first responders who ran towards danger to save others and of the many innocent lives lost. As we walk, we carry forward their legacy, ensuring that future generations understand the importance of remembrance and the impact of that fateful day.

Join us as we walk to honor, remember, and never forget.”
