Saluda River Rally Celebrates Year 14 Saturday

Around 300 Kayakers from more than 10 states are expected to visit Dolly Cooper Park Saturday for the launch of the 13th annual Saluda River Rally. Participants may launch at 8 a.m. and must be out of the river by 5 p.m. All proceeds go to the Area 14 Anderson County Special Olympics.
The event, which this year is a little different, offering the 9.2-mile paddle, expected to take 3-4 hours, which concludes at the Saluda River Grill in Piedmont, who may then return to the hub of activity at Dolly Cooper Park for food, music and fellowship.
Shuttles will be available at each site to return boaters and their kayaks to Dolly Cooper.
Participants are required to sign a release at Dolly Cooper Sports Complex. Children under the age of 18 will require a release signed by a parent or guardian. The event is open to the public.
Registration is $35 and includes t-shirt, campsite and transportation back to Dolly Cooper Park. All proceeds go to the Area 14 Anderson County Special Olympics.
