S.C., Anderson County Chooses Trump in GOP Primary

Former United States President Donald Trump easily won the South Carolina’s Presidential Preference Primary on Saturday, with 60.7 percent of the Republican vote.
Anderson County voters voted in even greater numbers that the statewide totals, with 68.69 percent of voters choosing Trump, and 30.61 percent voting for former S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley. Only four precincts in Anderson County, one in City of Anderson, Denver, Pendleton and Sandy Springs favored Nikki Haley.
Countywide voter turnout was 28.5 percent, or 34,582 total voters.
In the three non-binding questions on the ballot:
74 percent voted that South Carolina law should be changed to allow voters to register with the political party of their choice.
90 percent voted that South Carolina should adopt reforms to increase accountability and reduce conflicts of interest when electing judges
87.71 percent voted that Republicans should push for legislative changes to the way financial damages in a lawsuit are paid out.
