Shalom House Celebrates 25 Years of Service Saturday
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
On Saturday, Shalom House Ministries celebrates 25 years of service with a birthday fundraising event at the recovery center farm in Belton. The event, which begins at 2 p.m., will include tours of the facility, food and information on how the community can join in their work.
The event is free and open to the public, and is aimed as a chance for those who have volunteered, supported financially or benefited from their work to celebrate, as well as to raise awareness of the ministry to the broader community.
The Christian-based drug and alcohol treatment center for women, is located on a 104-acres off Blake Dairy Road and offers individualized treatment programs of three, six and nine months for women who struggle with drug and alcohol addiction. The goal is to provide a safe place for treatment and recovery and a place to find healing and restoration with programs designed to break the cycle of chemical dependence.
Upon completing treatment, Shalom House in Anderson offers supervised independent living where women have the opportunity to find a job while attending life-skill classes, with the goal of total economic independence.
Shalom operates entirely on the donations of those who support their vision, and receives no government funding. For more information, or to make a donation, visit here.
