Storyteller Conjures Southern Folk Tales at Anderson Library

Storyteller Dr. Nancy Tolson, Director of Undergraduate Studies in the African American Studies Program at the University of South Carolina, brought her tales to the Anderson County Library on Saturday to educate and entertain.

Dr. Tolson said she embrace folklore after gaining an understanding of how important it was to culture and history. Tolson told the Observer that books such as Neil Gaiman’s “American Gods” offered wonderful examples of how all people who immigrated to American brought their own important mystical stories.
