Voter Registration Deadline for April City Elections is March 3
Observer Reports
With Anderson County Municipal elections scheduled for April 2, the deadline for voter registration to participate in this election is March 3. In the April 2 City of Anderson Elections, five candidates have filed to run for the four seats up for election. Incumbents Luis Martinez II, Seat 2, Tony Stewart, Seat 4, and John Roberts, At-Large Seat 8, are running for re-election.
Two candidates have filed to run for Seat 6 seat vacated by longtime City Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem Rick Laughridge, who is retiring from city council after 16 years at the end of his term.
Anderson businessman Bryce Nivens announced first, and Anderson attorney Greg Steele filed for the seat, which represents an area that stretches from West of Linley Park, through the Pope Drive community, across to Whitehall Avenue.
