Flowers are in full color on the town square in Iva, where Spring is also a witness to blooming economic growth downtown and in areas surrounding the town.
The Iva branch of the Anderson County Library is expected to begin renovation of the old fire station downtown which will serve as an expanded, modern facility. Construction could begin in the Autumn, with potential completion in the Summer of 2025. The branch, which is being temporarily housed in the old Iva Museum building, will remain open until the new library is ready.
The old dime store on Iva’s square is also being renovated to house the Iva Museum in an expanded space which will fill much of the historic building.
New housing, and the town working to find a way to reclaim use of the old mill site are also underway as Iva moves into the new season. Town Manager Tim Taylor talked about these and other Iva news in this interview with the Anderson Observer.
