13: The Musical Kicks Off at Market Theatre
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
Anderson’s Market Theatre kicks off “13-The Musical” this week.
The high-energy musical features 13 young teenagers who tap into the mystery/curse of the teenage years.
It’s the story of Evan, a street-wise New York kid from the Upper West Side who is in the midst of handing out invitations to his upcoming bar mitzvah -- the "Jewish Super Bowl" -- when his world is turned upside-down.
His parents divorce and he is moved Appleton, Indiana, a town so small its name isn't even printed on a Google map. Evan's not only a geographic misfit in this small town, he's also a religious misfit, a place where no has met a Jew. His new best friend Patrice, an nerdy outsider who sees her hometown as "The Lamest Place in the World," works hard to get everyone to accept Evan.
This wholesome musical is perfect for the entire family.
The show runs through March 20. For more information or tickets, visit here.
