GAMAC Closes Season with Pair of April Concerts

The Greater Anderson Musical Arts Consortium will conclude their 2022-23 concert series with a pair of events, one saluting musical theater and one celebrating jazz.

“POP Goes the Chorale,” scheduled for April 16, will bring music from the stage and screen to the stage, including selections from “Wicked,” Elton John’s “Rocketman,” Disney favorites as well as selections from Stephen Sonheim.

The concert will begin at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Anderson. Tickets are  $20 for adults, with children 12 and under admitted free with an adult.

On April 30, the Anderson Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Andrew Pettus will mark International Jazz Day with a showcase of the music of Louis Armstrong, Cole Porter, and Dizzy Gillespie and others.  Tickets are $15 for adults with elementary, middle, and high school students admitted free.
