U.S. House District 3 Stewart Jones
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
1. What makes you the best candidate in a crowded field running for this office?
I’m a Christian, Constitutional conservative, husband, father, small business owner, and elected official, and eighth generation South Carolinian. I’ve served as an executive board member of the SC House Family Caucus, and am a Founding member of the SC Freedom Caucus. I’m the only candidate who has a proven record as a state representative and former county council member defending faith, family, and America first policy. I will continue standing for South Carolina conservative values in Congress. In the South Carolina House of Reps, I sponsored and passed - The Heartbeat Bill, Constitutional Carry, Prohibiting Biden’s Vaccine Mandate, Save Women’s Sports, Second Amendment Preservation against Red flag Laws, prohibiting vaccine and mask mandates during covid, shutting down a pediatric transgender clinic, and getting our state to leave the National School Boards Association when they came after parents, increasing transparency in the state budget, and voting against billions of dollars in waste and woke money, and stopping liberal judges. While there are a number of good candidates, none of them have the proven track record that I do.
2. How would you evaluate the job Jeff Duncan did in this position?
Regarding voting record, I will vote similarly but even more Constitutionally conservative.
3. Is there anything you will do differently that you consider a more effective path to serving the Third District?
I have a proven track record of actually stopping Joe Biden and runaway federal government from the state level. I will do more to advance and defend faith, family, and the Constitution.
4. What are the three most pressing issues for this district and how would you address each?
Securing the border, as last year my goddaughter was killed by an illegal alien - I will not stop until we secure our border, secure the budget and slashing the federal debt, and defending our Constitution.
5. What are the three most pressing issues facing the U.S. House of Representatives moving into 2025?
Securing the border is number one. We must also work to balance the budget. In 2025 we will need to extend the Trump tax cuts, and defend faith, family, and America first policy.
6. What is your philosophy of working with other elected representatives, some of whom may have different viewpoints?
My philosophy is to NEVER concede liberty. 2 Corinthians tells us that “where there is the Spirit of the Lord, there is liberty.” That is the liberty which I aim to defend. As a Christian, a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, former County Council member, and small business owner I have worked with many different people to achieve goals. I am mission driven and put policy over personality, and faith over fear. My record in the SC House of Reps shows that I have advanced Constitutional conservative legislation and South Carolina values. Every vote I take, I base on my faith in God, the Constitution, and discuss with constituents.
