ACTC Radio Station Chosen Best in Nation

WPPB- My Pulse Radio, the student-run radio station of Anderson County School Districts 1 & 2 Career and Technology Center has been recognized as the best in the nation at the 2023 Intercollegiate Broadcasting System ceremonies in New York City.

The station, which has received the top recognition multiple times since its first win in 2018.

It includes, talk, music, sports broadcasts, podcasts, and other offerings from on-air personalities.

In addition to the top award, WPPB won four other first place awards: Best Talk Program for “Teen Takes,” Best Radio Drama for “Whodunnit Episode 2,” Best Logo for “Mankind Unresloved,” and Best News Feature Story for “Chaos at the Well.” The station was also a finalist in 13 other categories.

The station was founded in October, 2012 by the students at the career center which representing Wren, Palmetto, Powdersville and Belton-Honea Path High Schools. It can be heard at mypulseradio.com, as well as on a variety of streaming apps, and is the Media Broadcasting program at ACTC, which is marking 50 years of service to the community.
