Anderson Robotics Team Headed to World Championships

Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer

The Anderson County Library’s Teen Vex Robotics Teams is heading for the world championships in Dallas in May.

The four-student team - Isabel Feldkamp, Cara Griesemere, Sam Smith and Banks Criswell – will compete in the middle school division against robotic teams from around the world.

Team coach and advisor Dr. Wanda Staggers of Anderson Institute of Technology and Library Services Teen Director Rachel Da Silva have worked with the students and are helping them prepare and raise funds for the big event.

The team members have applied coding techniques, robot design, and engineering journal principals over the past eight months at the library to meet the challenge of competition, and their work paid off when they won the S.C. Vex Robotics Championships earlier this year.
