City to Consider New Police Cars, Waterline Work Monday
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
Anderson City Council will consider the purchase of five new Police Dodge Chargers at a total cost of $175,830, as part of Monday night’s meeting at 6 p.m. in council chambers.
Council will also vote on engineering services for the design, specifications, bidding and construction services for the waterline running along Main Street from Tribble Street to Reed Street, which have lead joints and are showing their age. New Environmental Protection Agency Lead and Copper Rules require the removal of any lines that have lead joints or pipes that have lead solder over the next few years. Main Street is slated to be paved before the end of the year; the city wants to replace this line before it is paved. The proposal for these services being considered is $125,000.
Also on the agenda is a request for approval of a resolution authorizing the city to reimburse certain expenditures made prior to the issuance of the Equipment Capital Lease purchase not exceeding $2,710,000.
