City to Vote on Larger Lots for Kayfield Farms, New Police Radios
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
Anderson City Council will consider a proposal to amend plans for houses for the property annexed in 2021 on the corner of Midway Road and Crestview Road. The 50-acre Kayfield Farms property has been sold to a new developer who is asking the city to reduce the number of lots to 124 and to increase the average lot size. Requested changes to any approved Planned Development District must be approved by council.
Council will also vote on upgraded radio equipment for the Anderson City Police to allow for better and optionally encrypted communication. The gear will be funded by a South Carolina Department of Public Safety Justice Assistance Grant. The need for police radio encryption in public safety is increasing as technologies for monitoring public safety communications are widely accessible.
City council meets at 6 p.m. in council chambers of Anderson City Hall. Full agenda here.
