Council Honors Special Olympics Cheer Team, Palmetto Robot Squad

In one of the shortest Anderson County Council meetings in recent memory – there were no first, second or third reading of ordinances or resolutions on the agenda – council approved a bid of $250,000 to upgrade radio communication devices for Public Safety workers which will allow for interagency connectivity across departments and county lines.

Council also honored the Anderson County Area 14 Special Olympic Team “Blue Lightning” for winning the silver medal at the 2024 Statewide Cheer Competition and “Team Juicebox,” the Palmetto Middle School 8th Grade Robotics Team, for qualifying for the 2024 World Championship at the earlier recognition meeting Tuesday.
