County Looking Ahead to Tree Ordinance, RV Park Regulations
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
It was not as much what happened at Tuesday night’s Anderson County Council meeting as it was what council promised to look into in the days and weeks ahead.
Council agreed to look into legal navigation in a tree ordinance that will protect the land and streams from potentially problematic development.
Council Chairman Tommy Dunn said he did not want to see the kind of clear-cutting that is currently a part of the developments being built on land the City of Anderson annexed in recent years. Those developments, when approved by the city, were supposed to maintain the contour of the land and protect at least some of the hardwoods. They did not.
Council also announced plans to review the county’s RV park regulations at a study session in the days ahead,
Anderson County Council Vice Chairman recapped the meeting for the Anderson Observer.
