Deadline Near to Register for November Elections

It’s not too late to register to vote in Anderson County’s November municipal elections, but time is growing short. Only those registered 30 days before the Nov. 7 elections will be eligible to vote in the races in Belton, Honea Path, Iva, Pendleton, Pelzer and West Pelzer. Friday is the deadline for in-person registration, Sunday is the deadline for online registration.
To register, visit SCVotes.gov., or visit the Anderson County Voter Registration and Elections Office at 301 North Main Street in Anderson. Both require a valid S.C. Driver’s License or Department of Motor Vehicles ID. Those who have moved must first update their new residence address with the DMV.
Eligible voters must:
Be a United States citizen -be at least eighteen years old on or before the next electio
Be a resident of South Carolina, this county and precinct
Not be under a court order declaring you mentally incompetent
Not be confined in any public prison resulting from a conviction of a crime
Have never been convicted of a felony or offense against the election laws OR if previously convicted, have served the entire sentence, including probation or parole, or have received a pardon for the conviction.
There is no length of residency requirement in South Carolina in order to register to vote.
Registered voters can check their registration information at scvotes.org When checking your voter registration information, you must provide your name, county and date of birth as it appears on your voter registration card in order to view your information.
