Electrolux Trims 3rd Shift, No FT Jobs Lost

Electrolux of Anderson is dropping its third-shift production, but no full-time jobs will be lost.
A spokesperson for the company, which employs more 2,000, said the seasonal fluctuation is not unusual.
“We are reconfiguring our factory to drive efficiencies as we continue to face lower demand in the market,” said Samantha Hamlin, Head of Electrolux North America Communications. “While I am unable to provide an exact number, I can confirm there is no impact to Electrolux Group employees. Our temporary workforce fluctuates seasonally and ensures we can align to market demand while protecting our full-time Electrolux Group employees.”
In 2017, the company announced the $250 million investment to modernize and expand its Anderson facility to consolidate upright freezer production. Electrolux is already one of the county's largest employers, with more than 2,000 employees.
