First Light Says Name Change Better Reflects Mission
Greg Wilson/Anderson Observer
An Anderson charitable organization has a new name, one which they hope will better reflect their vision.
First Light, formerly Foothills Alliance, has served the community for more than two decades helping children and adults who are victims of sexual assault, sexual trauma or domestic violence/abuse.
The organization works with law enforcement and other agencies to provide a safe haven for who need their services, and offers therapy and counseling as part of their mission.
First Light officially kicked off the new name Tuesday, a change they believe will reduce some of the confusion concerning what they offer the community and spread the word they they are offering light in dark places for those in need.
To take advantage of their services or for more information call 864-231-7273.
First Light Executive Director Chelsey Hucker talked about the change with the Anderson Observer.
