Students from middle and high schools across the state will compete for the state championship title.
“Anderson County is so excited to be able to host the SCDNR Youth Bass Fishing Championship,” said Neil Paul, executive director of Visit Anderson. “Our county has a tremendous relationship with SCDNR, and the great folks that represent the SCDNR shield have all served in the growth and development of Green Pond Landing into a nationally recognized facility. For Anderson County to be able to share this event with SCDNR to continue providing fishing opportunities for our young people is something we take great pride in for our lake, our facility and our community.”
Trophies, medals, plaques and fishing gear from Abu Garcia, Plano and Berkley will be awarded to the winners from support by the Harry Hampton Wildlife Foundation. Scholarships sponsored by Visit Anderson and Pure Fishing brands for $1,000 will be awarded to the first-place high school two-person team.
